• Gage error is very hazardous to Business process 
• You may end up calling a pass product as fail product , or
• You may end up calling a fail product as pass product
• Our motive is to reduce this gage error to improve quality of Measurement system.
• We need to measure parts near spec limits several times to reduce gage error.
• Gage error is error due to Measurement system.
• Better the Quality of Measurement system then better will be measurement you will receive.
• Measure parts near specification limit several times to avoid Gage error.

Brainstorming the effects of Gage error :

• There are different causes of variation in the gage as the underlying true data or the same causes may contribute different percentages.
• A fishbone diagram is a tool to brainstorm the effect of these causes on the observed data values.
